CUSTOM SCENTED PRODUCTS

DAENA, offers scented candles, room sprays andfragrance diffusersby capillarity in packaging personalized with your company logo.

Our candles are made and cast by hand in our workshop in Geneva. We use 100% vegetable, biodegradable and paraffin-free waxes.

Vegetable waxes have a particular quality: their low melting temperature allows a prolonged duration of combustion and ensures an excellent diffusion of scents.

To improve the beneficial effects of our candles, we exclusively use untreated cotton wicks which are pre-soaked in wax for better combustion, labeled oeko-tex.

The scents are obtained either from essential oils (aromatherapy range) or from perfumes that we develop especially for you according to very strict specifications (no standardsIFRA, phthalates and CMR free) in our family laboratory.

frequently asked Questions

My candle is hollow, what can I do?

A candle hollows out when the wax does not melt all the way to the edge of the container, leaving wax around the edges.

DAENA candles are designed to burn to the edge so that there is no waste and the burning time is optimum. However, a candle can also burn out if you don't let it burn long enough before extinguishing it.

The candle has some sort of memory and will resume the previous burn hole. It is therefore always necessary to burn the candle long enough for the wax to be completely melted to a depth of 2cm (count about 2 to 3 hours).

If your candle digs despite having left it burning long enough, do not hesitate to let us know and we will guide you.

Do I have to cut the wick each time?

Yes, you must cut the wick to about 5 mm before each burn.

Soy and rapeseed wax candles do not produce toxic soot like paraffin candles, but when the wick is too long, a carbonaceous deposit can form at the tip, which can cause smoke. Cutting your wick will avoid this inconvenience and make the combustion cleaner. Our wicks do not contain lead, zinc or any other metal. The wick is easily cut by breaking off the end with your fingers before lighting it or with a special wick scissor.

What is this frosted effect?

The frosted effect is when white crystals form on the top of the candle (much like on chocolate). This effect sometimes occurs with soy or rapeseed wax candles, an effect inherent in their natural composition which varies with temperature. Most people are not bothered by this rendering and even say that it is a sign that the candle is indeed natural wax and not paraffin. It also happens that the candle detaches slightly from the glass with temperature variations, another characteristic inherent in its natural composition.

Some candle makers add paraffin to the natural wax to eliminate these minor inconveniences. Our candles are made of 100% natural wax (without palm oil) and we do not add any mineral element to our candles, but our manufacturing methods have been developed to reduce these small defects as much as possible.

How to clean vegetable wax residue?

Vegetable waxes are easy to clean with warm water and soap. But do not throw the leftovers in your sink, you risk clogging your pipes! If there is a little wax left in your containers, heat the glass a little (in a bain-marie for example or with a hair dryer), wipe off the melted wax with household paper that you can use to light your fireplaces. You can then clean your glass as normal.

Tips for perfect burning of your candles:

  • Do not move your candles during combustion and do not leave them unattended

  • Do not burn your candles too long to preserve their fragrance (4 hours maximum)

  • Keep the wick trimmed to 5mm to avoid smoke and carbonation of the wick. Cut the wick before each use.

  • Burn your candle in an area that is free from drafts and obstructions such as curtains, books, baskets, etc.

  • If you burn several candles at the same time, space them out to avoid poor combustion.

  • Keep the burn area clean and free of debris.

  • Let your candles burn to the edge of the container before extinguishing it.

  • Keep your candles  away from sources of heat and direct sunlight.

  • Always burn your candles on a level, fireproof base.

  • Extremes of heat and cold should be avoided. Do not keep your candles in the freezer or in a car.
